Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights

Everyone likes it when a plan works out. But in today's economic climate, sometimes the best-laid plans fall short, and it becomes necessary to protect your rights. At Haskell Slaughter, we provide practical solutions for both creditors and debtors in reorganization and restructuring situations, both inside and outside of bankruptcy court. Our lawyers are highly experienced in all types of business reorganizations, and have particular expertise in complex situations involving secured financings, bond defaults and bankruptcy-related litigation.

We recently helped a large public company restructure over $3 billion in defaulted bank credit facilities and publicly traded debt, and were called on to represent a consortium of self-insured hospitals in litigation involving insolvent excess insurers. We have served as debtor's counsel to a multi-site specialty healthcare provider, to a publicly traded interstate trucking company, to an international candy manufacturer, to a publicly traded transportation manufacturing company, and to a number of coal/energy producers. We have also served as creditors' committee counsel in the reorganization of an integrated poultry producer and a manufacturer of specialty waste removal products, and as counsel to retirees seeking to protect their plan benefits in a multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy. In addition, we have substantial experience in major asbestos-related bankruptcies. Our bankruptcy and reorganization lawyers combine their specialized skills with the industry and capital markets resources of a major business law firm to help bring you the solutions you need, whether you're a creditor seeking to maximize recovery or a business pursuing a restructuring.
