Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Minner attended the University of Kentucky on full academic and R.O.T.C. scholarships and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with departmental honors and with highest distinction. In 1996, he graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law where he received the Weldon White Scholarship and was elected by his peers as their Representative to the Vanderbilt Bar Association among other honors and achievements. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Minner was awarded a federal judicial clerkship with the Honorable C. Lynwood Smith, Jr., United States District Court, Northern District of Alabama.

Mr. Minner practices in the areas of serious personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, business litigation and medical malpractice. He has tried major jury trials in state and federal courts ranging from products liability and medical negligence to complex business matters achieving many million and multi-million dollar results. He was honored to attain an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell (the highest rating attainable for ethical standards and legal ability), as well as to meet the significant trial requirements, peer review requirements and judicial review requirements for Board Certification as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Minner was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Personal Injury Litigation. He also has been listed for several years in Benchmark Litigation The Definitive Guide to America's Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys.

He has a nationwide practice, having handled cases in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, New York, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and Arkansas and has represented clients from many others. Mr. Minner has been sought out to represent both individuals and businesses against corporate giants like Ford, Merck, Columbia Gulf Transmission, Bridgestone/Firestone, Microsoft, Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., Teledyne Continental Motors, John Deere and J.B. Hunt. Since 2000, Mr. Minner has had tremendous success in complex and high profile cases obtaining approximately 25 million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Mr. Minner has also achieved significant success with many cases that have reached an impasse. After being hired to step in and “salvage” cases with his out of the box thinking and aggressive approach, Mr. Minner has taken such cases to trial achieving results ranging from ten to fifty times the previous settlement offer. In a recent injury case that had been litigated for several years prior to his involvement, Mr. Minner was hired to take over as lead counsel only a few months before trial and his innovative approach to trial preparation led him as far as Ghana, Africa in pursuit of an excellent result for his client. His courtroom successes have resulted in the honor of being named to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum - the Top Trial Lawyers in America and being listed in the Best of the U.S. in the specialty of Personal Injury Litigation.

Mr. Minner is a member of the Board of Governors of the Alabama Association for Justice. He was elected by his peers to the Executive Board of the Birmingham Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division and the Executive Committee of Birmingham Bar Association as well as the State Bar Young Lawyer's Section. He is a member of the Alabama Leadership Forum Class of 2006 and Leadership Birmingham. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Birmingham YMCA and was named the Volunteer of the Year in 2008. He also serves as President of the Central Alabama University of Kentucky Alumni Association.

Mr. Minner, his wife, Joy, and children, Jackson, John Luke and Jaye Beth are active members of Trinity United Methodist Church where he serves on the Administrative Board and was elected to the Board of Trustees. Mr. Minner also enjoys challenges away from the law and has competed in the Boston Marathon, triathlon competitions and other athletic events.
