MARTY FRANKLIN, a shareholder, practices in the firm's Insolvency and Restructuring Group. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Alabama. He also received from the University of Alabama his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation. He was selected for membership in Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Alpha Delta, for which he served as an officer. Mr. Franklin also served as an associate editor of The Journal of the Legal Profession. He was law clerk to United States Bankruptcy Judge George S. Wright, Northern District of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute and is certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification.

Mr. Franklin is a member of the West Blount Park Board, the Hayden High School Booster Club, and the Hayden High School PTO. He enjoys traveling, hiking fishing, and boating. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Marty and Michael. They are members of Chapel Hills Baptist Church.
